Black Krim Tomato
Why I grow it
One of my all-time favourite tomatoes and a variety I come back to again and again. Black Krim produces beautiful dark, dusky fruit with a rich, complex flavour that makes it worth growing even before you consider how spectacular it looks. If I had room for only a handful of tomato varieties, this would be one of them.

In the kitchen
This is a tomato to eat rather than hide. The flesh is juicy and richly flavoured, with that lovely balance of sweetness and acidity that makes dark tomatoes so distinctive. Slice it thickly for sandwiches, salads and platters — or eat it warm from the garden with a little salt and call that lunch.
In the garden
Black Krim is a vigorous indeterminate heritage tomato, continuing to grow and set fruit through the season. Its fruit develops its characteristic dark colouring as it ripens, with the shoulders often retaining green or becoming particularly dark. Give the plant plenty of room and good support for the developing fruit.
Care
Grow in full sun in fertile, well-drained soil. Water consistently as the fruit develops and feed during flowering and fruiting. Tie new growth to sturdy support as it grows and protect from frost.
What you'll receive
One healthy, established tomato seedling grown here at A Garden Between. Plants naturally vary in size and shape and may be supplied in reused nursery pots or growing bags — perfectly useful plastic doesn't need replacing simply because it doesn't match.
