Shipping & Delivery

We send live plants throughout Aotearoa New Zealand and take particular care in preparing them for their journey.

Plant shipping
Our shipping boxes hold up to 6 plants. You're welcome to order fewer, but the shipping cost is the same — so filling your box gives you the best value. Larger orders will be packed across additional boxes.

Dispatch days
Plants are generally dispatched early in the week to reduce the chance of them sitting in a courier depot over a weekend. You'll receive tracking information once your order has been sent.

Delivery times
Delivery times vary depending on your location and courier network conditions. We'll provide an estimated delivery timeframe at checkout where possible, but courier timeframes aren't guaranteed.

Shipping rates
Shipping rates are calculated at checkout based on your delivery region and the number of plants in your order. South Island shipping costs more than North Island shipping because of the additional courier cost.

Rural delivery
Rural addresses may take a little longer and may attract an additional delivery charge. Where this isn't automatically calculated at checkout, we'll confirm the cost with you before dispatch.

Weather holds
Occasionally we may delay dispatch because of extreme weather or other conditions that could put your plants at unnecessary risk. If this happens, we'll let you know. We'd rather keep your plants safely here for another day or two than send them into obviously unsuitable conditions.

Packaging
Our packaging is deliberately simple. We reuse nursery pots and growing bags wherever practical, so your plants may arrive in mismatched pots — perfectly useful plastic doesn't need throwing away just because it doesn't match. Orders are packed predominantly using cardboard and paper, with as little new plastic as possible.

Problems in transit
If your parcel is delayed, damaged or your plants arrive in poor condition, please contact us at hello@agardenbetween.com and we'll help sort it out.

Local collection
Free local collection is available from A Garden Between near Waihi. There is no minimum order for local collection — choose as many or as few plants as you like. Select pickup at checkout and please wait until you receive confirmation that your plants are ready before coming to collect them.
