Yellow Pear Cherry Tomato
Why I grow it
One of my all-time favourites and a tomato I wouldn't want a summer garden without. Yellow Pear produces masses of ridiculously cheerful little yellow pear-shaped tomatoes over a long season. They're sweet, prolific and almost impossible to walk past without picking a couple — this is one I grow because I genuinely love it.

In the kitchen
These rarely make it very far from the garden in our house. They're mild, sweet and firm enough to be brilliant for snacking, salads and lunchboxes, and their shape and colour make them gorgeous mixed with red and darker cherry tomatoes. They can also be used for preserves and pickling. Kings Seeds NZ
In the garden
Yellow Pear is a vigorous, prolific indeterminate tomato that keeps growing and setting fruit through the season rather than giving you one concentrated harvest. The fruit hangs in clusters and the plants can become substantial, so give them good support despite the tiny tomatoes. Kings Seeds NZ
Care
Grow in full sun in fertile, well-drained soil. Water consistently as the fruit develops and feed during flowering and fruiting. Give the vines good support and pick regularly as the fruit ripens. Protect from frost.
What you'll receive
One healthy, established tomato seedling grown here at A Garden Between. Plants naturally vary in size and shape and may be supplied in reused nursery pots or growing bags — perfectly useful plastic doesn't need replacing simply because it doesn't match.
