Roma Tomato

$7.00

Why I grow it

Perfect for making sauces or paste, I succession plant these as they tend to ripen together, so by staggering plants I can slowly make sauces rather than being overwhelmed with 500 tomatoes at once

At a glance
Type: Plum / Sauce tomato
Growth: Determinate
Fruit: Red, Plum-shaped
Position: Full sun
Support: Light support may be useful

In the kitchen
A fantastic sauce or paste tomato. In our family we make pastas, ketchup, Sauces or just freeze in bags ready to add to pasta, paella or curries.

In the garden
A classic plum tomato, highly productive with reliable yields. Can be grown on patios or greenhouses or in the garden

Care
Grow in a sunny position in fertile, well-drained soil. Water consistently as the fruit develops and feed during flowering and fruiting. As a determinate variety, there's no need to treat it like a sprawling indeterminate tomato — let it form its naturally compact plant and support it if the crop becomes heavy.

What you'll receive
One healthy, established  tomato seedling grown here at A Garden Between. Plants naturally vary in size and shape and may be supplied in reused nursery pots or growing bags — perfectly useful plastic doesn't need replacing simply because it doesn't match.
