Why I grow it
I like bellflowers because they earn their space. Korean bellflower is a hardy perennial that forms a spreading clump and produces masses of distinctive bell-shaped flowers through summer. It’s useful in the slightly wild, plants-growing-through-each-other sort of garden I prefer.

At a glance
Type: Flowering perennial
Growth: Clump-forming and spreading
Flowers: Creamy white to pale pink bells, marked inside with darker spots
Flowering: Summer
Inventory: 15 plants

In the garden
Good for cottage-style planting, mixed perennial beds and informal edges where it can weave itself amongst other plants. It will spread when happy, so this isn't necessarily one for someone requiring every plant to remain precisely where it was put.

The flowers are attractive to pollinators and the foliage dies back over winter before returning in spring.

Care
Grows in sun to part shade. Likes reasonably moist, well-drained soil but is fairly unfussy once established. Cut old growth back after flowering or leave it to do its own thing until winter.

What you’ll receive
One established Korean bellflower plant, ready to plant into the garden.
