Aster Cut Flower Mixed

Aster Cut Flower Mixed

$7.00

Why I grow it
I grow asters because they're generous flowers — good in the garden, useful for cutting, and particularly welcome when other things are beginning to run out of steam.

This is a mixed selection, so part of the fun is that I can't tell you exactly what each plant will produce. Different colours and flower forms are part of the deal.

At a glance
Type: Flowering annual
Variety: Cut Flower Mix
Growth: Upright and branching
Flowers: Mixed colours
Good for: Cutting, pollinators and mixed planting
Inventory: 8 pots — approximately 2 plants per pot

In the garden
Grow somewhere sunny in a potager, cutting garden or amongst other flowering plants. Their upright growth makes them easy to weave through other planting rather than needing a bed of their own.

They're particularly useful if, like me, you'd rather have flowers growing amongst everything else than maintain a garden with rigid departmental boundaries.

For cutting
The stems are excellent for picking. Cut flowers as they begin to open and keep harvesting or deadheading through the flowering period to encourage the plants to continue producing.

Care
Full sun, fertile well-drained soil and regular water while establishing and during dry periods. Avoid keeping the foliage constantly wet and give plants reasonable airflow as they grow.

What you’ll receive
One pot containing approximately two established Aster Cut Flower Mix plants. As this is a mix, flower colour cannot be selected in advance.

Plants naturally vary in size and shape and may be supplied in reused nursery pots or growing bags — perfectly useful plastic doesn't need replacing simply because it doesn't match.
